if you've ever been shopping for fabric and have chosen something that isn't the width your pattern called for, never fear! you just have to know how much more or less you need to buy to accomodate all your pattern pieces. this is not an exact science, but there are guidelines and formulas, which are totally useless for those of us who are math-disinclined. it's handy to carry a chart around, just in case.
